Each year during the week of July 4th, Morgantown, Kentucky bustles with excitement as the annual Green River Catfish Festival kicks off. The festival, which has been a summer staple in Morgantown since 1980, draws people of all ages from all across Kentucky to enjoy carnival rides, pageants, a variety of food vendors, live music, square dancing, car and tractor shows, and one of the biggest, most breathtaking fireworks shows in South Central Kentucky.
Of course, it would not be the Green River Catfish Festival without the annual fishing tournament, in which anglers flock to the Green River to fish for tagged catfish for cash prizes.
There is something for everyone at the Green River Catfish Festival. Be sure to come to the Charles Black City Park in Morgantown, Kentucky July 2-4, 2020 for the 40th festival and make our festival a family tradition for years to come.
